Training

We are keen to support training at Island Coachways.

Our commitment has been recognized locally and nationally. In 2006 we were shortlisted for both the RouteOne Operator Excellence Awards – Operator Training Award, and the Guernsey Awards for Achievement – Excellence in Training Award.

If you are resident in Guernsey and successfully complete an interview and driving assessment, we may employ you under a training contract and teach you to drive a bus. Our Training Officer will prepare you for your category D and PSV driving tests. Our driving school can also train external candidates. For further information, contact Jenny Down.

Any new drivers are given several weeks of route training and vehicle familiarisation under the guidance of our driver mentors. We also pride ourselves on our customer care – so all staff receive training on their arrival, which is reinforced by externally provided training.

All drivers receive regular assessments, development and support.

We support the Apprenticeship Scheme.
